I’m Seth Noorzad, attorney and founder of Noorzad Law.

About Me

I’m a solo attorney based in Santa Barbara. I keep my practice intentionally small so I can focus on the people and the cases where I know I can make a real difference. I combine a clerk’s eye for detail, a litigator’s experience across courts, and the perspective of someone who has seen both the big picture and the small scale.

Professional Background

I studied philosophy at UCSB and earned my law degree from Penn State Dickinson Law. During law school, I interned at the Yale Law School Environmental Justice Clinic, where I worked on Title VI civil rights complaints, and later in the EPA’s Office of General Counsel, gaining exposure to federal environmental statutes like the Toxic Substances Control Act and Endangered Species Act. I’ve since litigated against federal agencies in private practice, including a case seeking to have “processed meat” listed as a Prop 65 carcinogen in California.

From 2021 to 2022, I clerked at the Los Angeles Superior Court, the largest trial court in the country. I drafted rulings for hundreds of motions across nearly every area of civil law — torts, property, contracts, business disputes, and more. That experience gave me a sharp understanding of what works in court, how judges think, and where the opportunities lie.

Since opening my private practice in 2022, I’ve represented clients in contract disputes, property matters, and trust cases, and I’ve ghostwritten winning motions for other attorneys. What I enjoy most is finding targeted solutions that others overlook — saving clients time, money, and stress while getting them real results.

Philosophy of Practice

I don’t run a volume practice. I take on matters where I can listen closely, see the full dimension of the problem, and provide a solution that fits the client’s actual needs. Sometimes that means drafting a surgical motion that changes the outcome; sometimes it means helping a client see clearly where they stand. My commitment is clarity, rigor, and attention — without the runaround.

Personal Note

Before law, my first love was classical music. I grew up playing viola in Santa Barbara’s vibrant classical music scene — chamber groups and orchestras. Today, I play piano for the joy of it — mostly Chopin and Mozart. That discipline trained me to listen closely, collaborate, and attend to nuance — the same skills I bring to my legal practice.

I entered the Catholic Church at Easter 2024, a decision that reshaped my life and connected me more deeply with both my Christian and Jewish heritage. In the summer of 2024, I made a pilgrimage to Kentucky’s Catholic heartland, staying at Gethsemane Abbey where Thomas Merton lived and wrote. Faith now grounds me with a sense of peace and purpose that runs deeper than my work.

In my spare time, I write fiction, play music, and practice my faith. In my work, I serve real people with careful attention and strong advocacy. If you want an attorney who will see the whole picture, tell you the truth, and pursue solutions that make a difference, I’d be glad to hear from you.
